As the health of our guests, staff and animals is our number one priority, Frost Science has consulted with public health authorities to implement increased safety precautions that are also in compliance with all local and state guidelines. The museum is a large, sprawling, 250,000 sq. ft facility, a significant portion of which is open-air, outdoors and naturally conducive to social distancing.
We are looking forward to welcoming our community back to the museum and creating new memories of scientific discovery and exploration.
A Note From Frank Steslow, President & CEO
Frost Science is much more than a building – science happens here. We are excited to welcome the community back to the museum, where we are committed to protecting the health and safety of our employees, guests and community. I began my professional career in public health, with degrees in microbiology and environmental/occupational health, researching applied disinfection techniques and working to understand the mechanisms of the spread of HIV, all before I began working and managing public cultural facilities. We all often look back and wonder how past education and experience will help to inform our decisions and I feel fortunate to have had that experience and training at this time, helping to prepare Frost Science for a safe reopening and sustainable future.
All guests must comply with all COVID-19 safety measures and all other policies at all times while on museum property.
Our safety plan puts your health and safety at the center of all we do. It is a comprehensive, multi-layered approach with guidance from public health experts, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA), Florida Department of Health, Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami. We are grateful to these entities for their exceptional efforts and guidance.
