Dear Arsht Center friends:
All of us at the Arsht Center hope that you are all finding ways to keep your minds and bodies healthy through this unique moment in our collective history. We can’t wait to welcome you back to the Arsht Center and we especially look forward to bringing the thrill of live performance to you as well as thousands of children in our community very soon. For now, we have to wait just a little bit longer.
In the best interest of our guests, staff, artists and especially the most vulnerable in our community, we have decided to extend the suspension of all performances and events at the Arsht Center beyond the original date of April 5. Shows and events will now be suspended through May 10. This is in line with the directive from Miami-Dade County and the most recent recommendations issued by the CDC earlier this week for the health of our entire community.
The arts are a vital part of all our lives and we at the Arsht Center take the responsibility quite seriously. Despite this disruption, our staff is diligently working on ways to keep you connected to the performing arts, to Miami’s artistic community and to the Arsht Center. Updates on that coming soon.
Now that shows are suspended through May 10, here is what we know:
As we all have experienced, the situation is unique and continuously evolving. We will keep monitoring reliable resources and follow the latest directives from the CDC and Miami-Dade County health officials and will make further decisions accordingly. As we go through this unprecedented moment together, we will promise to share any future decisions with you as quickly as possible.
Our hearts are with those in our community who are suffering the health effects of this pandemic as well as with those in our industry and beyond who are suffering financially.
We are in this together and will rise out of this together. We look forward to the day when we can continue to, once again, provide wonderful, life-affirming cultural experiences to you as we have for the past 15 years!
More to come.
Arsht Center President and CEO
